Built this rubbermaid plastic shed in the back yard (7 feet x 7 feet). the big victory was building the foundation on such a sloping lot.. Help with foundation for 7x7 rubbermaid shed. bear with me here.. not a diy but looking to learn a little at a time here! purchased a 7x7 rubbermaid shed with flooring included but directions(and this forum) bring to my attention the need for a stable floor in addition to that included flooring.. Re: rubbermaid shed foundation -- new diyer we set the shed on the patio blocks just above the soil---this yard has good drainage so we were not concerned with water pooling under the shed. larger patio blocks will be cheaper and faster than brick sized pavers--plus, the larger size will be a stronger anchor in a wind storm..
If the foundation isn’t level, then the rest of the shed won’t go together properly. the common problems reported (with both this shed and the rubbermaid big max and probably true of most vinyl sheds) are that the roof can’t be attached properly and that the doors won’t line up.. A backyard shed is a useful storage space, but it becomes much less useful if it's falling over due to a failed foundation. several foundation-building methods will keep a shed standing tall, but depending on where you live and the kind of shed you're putting up, your foundation options could be limited.. Do i need a foundation for this type of shed, or can i just put it on level ground? do plastic sheds require a foundation? ask question 7. wood sheds it was recommended due to rot, but in a rubbermaid shed i don't think it is necessary. share | improve this answer. answered oct 18 '10 at 19:41. brian brian. 2,386 7 23 41..
